This website preserves and shares the history and legacy of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps, nation's earliest effort at equitable educational opportunity in a uniformed service corps for women. It was created during World War II to address the crticial nursing shortage in the United States.

• Educational resources, research links, book, and information about projects and events that honor Cadet Nurses and their contributions to nursing and Amerian history

By 1945, Cadet Nurses were providing up to 80% of the nursing care in U.S. hospitals. Their service helped shae modern nursing education and healthcare in America. 

This website is a volunteer-supported, collaborative project that continues to grow through contributions from individuals, families, historians, educators, libraries, museums, and researchers. We welcome stories photographs, memorabilia, and historical information related to the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps.
