Madaline Sweatlock Divittorio

January 7, 1927 - January 2, 2023

I entered nursing school in 1945 and graduated in 1948. I married in 1948 and retired in 2014 when my husband became ill. I spent the last 40 years in Florida doing Home Care Nursing and was a nationally certified ICD-9 coder. I loved home care (all aspects) and loved nursing. I too am thankful for this program and was not sure where I was headed before I signed up. The war was over just a few weeks after we entered, but the program, thankfully, kept us in. Nursing has been a big part of my life. 

I retired at age 87 and have a grandson who graduated from nursing school this year (2020), waiting to take his boards. He loves nursing and did very well. I never expected a grandson would follow in my footsteps. I am so proud of him.
